About This Position
About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of facility equipment and infrastructure across our United States locations. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting malfunctions, and executing timely repairs to prevent downtime and maintain safety standards. The ideal candidate will work proactively to identify potential issues before they escalate, contributing to the longevity and reliability of machinery and building systems. Collaboration with other departments is essential to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to daily operations. Ultimately, this role supports the overall productivity and safety of the workplace by maintaining a well-functioning environment.
- Must have working knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
- Must have basic automobile maintenance knowledge.
- Must be able to do heavy lifting (move furniture, boxes of records, etc.) and operate equipment required for the position (power tools, hand tools, ladders, etc.).
- Must be able to take the lead on projects and coordinate with Manager.
- Other duties as needed or required.
- Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or GED
Experience: Two years minimum experience with maintenance work that includes electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. General contracting/construction experience preferred.
Computer Literate
Additional Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment.
Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF, and Must have valid Florida Driver’s License Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.(must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character).Must be able to provide official transcripts.
Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Required to drive company vehicle. Must meet established insurance requirements. Must have a valid Florida driver license and Agency approved driver status. Travel is required between agency locations and surrounding community. Some clean up and handling of hazardous material may be required.
