Job DescriptionThe Senior Critical Maintenance Technician (SCMT) is responsible for responding to and resolving all facilities building maintenance requests. Building maintenance tasks may include, but are not limited to: plumbing, carpentry, electrical, lighting, heating, air-conditioning (HVAC), and general clean-up or maintenance to support the building needs, as required. This position will also provide escorting for contractors providing services in the building and the data center, as requested.
RESPONSIBILITIESAnswer and respond to all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related calls from customers, contractors, andmanagement. Address and correct issues promptly, and properly communicate any on-going or severe issues to the appropriate chain of commandAssist the CFM/ACFM to lead the BMT team to deliver total availability (100% uptime) while minimizing risksRecord all maintenance tasks via the appropriate system, resolve tickets in the system when work is completeInspect interior and exterior building structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations to managementPerform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty toolsPerform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucksEvaluate, prepare, and paint structures and equipment (e.g. walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.)Perform preventative maintenance work on building electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment supporting the building office spaceAssist with the development, revision, and execution preventive maintenance procedures, and perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity, and continual improvementOrder parts, as needed, to support building maintenance needs, and maintain required documents and record of inventoryAssume an ownership stake in the planning and coordination of all large-scale projects required to address building issuesMaintain accurate building data including, rounds, PM work orders, change management, etc.Manage assigned workflow tasks in order to provide timely turnaroundParticipate in facility training programs by contributing to content/expertise on a regular basisWork closely with the CFM/ACFM and other key personnel on daily data center managementEscort and work effectively with outside contractors, ensure they are abiding by critical facility work rulesComplete facility rounds at the beginning of each shift to ensure building and grounds upkeepFollow T5 data center corporate policies and proceduresAdhere to all federal, state, and local safety lawsComplete other such duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by T5FM management
QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school degree or GED, preferredTwo years working experience in facility maintenanceBasic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry, requiredElectrical or mechanical licensure, preferred
