Summary:

The Account Manager AM is a key contributor to the HdL Companies sales team, responsible for sales within local government agencies across the central region. This role focuses on growing existing government relationships and developing new opportunities by navigating public procurement processes, leveraging HdL’s trusted reputation, and aligning solutions to the unique fiscal, regulatory, and operational needs of public agencies. The Account Manager works closely with internal teams to ensure compliant, responsive, and value driven solutions that support long-term public-sector success.


Location Profile

We offer a flexible work environment that allows our employees to collaborate across offices and remote teams. All new hires must complete an introductory period after which 2 days per week are required in the office, other days may be remote. This role is based in our Houston, Texas location.

Objectives of this role:

Build and expand trusted advisor relationships with public sector customers and prospects within the assigned territoryLeverage HdL’s established credibility and government relationships to drive sales and pipeline growthManage and advance sales opportunities including discovery, stakeholder alignment, RFP responses, presentations to staff and elected officials, and contract negotiationCollaborate internally to ensure proposed solutions align with government regulations, budget constraints, and operational requirementsSupport long term account growth through expansion of HdL servicesMaintain full compliance with HdL Sales, Human Resource, and corporate ethics policies as well as public sector procurement standards

Job Responsibilities

Manage territory pipeline and account activity using Salesforce CRMMaintain accurate and current records for government accounts, key stakeholders, contracts, and opportunitiesEnsure all opportunities reflect clearly defined next steps, procurement timelines, and decision processesFollow HdL’s established sales methodology while adapting to public sector procurement and approval cyclesApply MEDDICC qualification principles with consideration for public-sector decision-making structuresCoordinate responses to RFPs, RFQs, and other formal solicitations in partnership with internal teamsParticipate in industry conferences, government association events, council or committee meetings, and on-site visits within the territoryMonitor legislative, regulatory, and market trends affecting public agencies and communicate insights and opportunities to leadershipPerform other related duties as assigned by management

Skills and Qualifications

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams including operations, legal, and executive leadershipDemonstrated understanding of public sector procurement processes, contracts, and buying cyclesStrong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to staff, executive leadership, and elected officialsExcellent organizational, project management, and follow through skillsData driven mindset with the ability to balance compliance, creativity, and solution-oriented selling

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Sales & Marketing or any related field+2 years’ experience selling in a quota driven sales organizationExperience using CRM and sales automation tools, preferably Salesforce

Compensation

The starting base salary for this Houston, Texas position is expected to be between $66,560.00 $70,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
