Pay Range: $36.00 - $41.79 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Physical Therapist Assistant treats outpatients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant carries out the treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist (PT) and reports changes in patient status to the PT.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of a CAPTE accredited associate degree program for Physical Therapy Assistants
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Experience in blood pressure and pulse monitoring
  • General computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ Physical Therapy Assistant License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift working, Monday-Friday 8:30am—4:30pm
  • Full-Time (FT)

Essential Functions:

  • Arranges daily schedule as needed and works well with staff in the scheduling of patients
  • Prioritizes patient needs according to department policy/professional standards/state and Federal statute-regulations
  • Progress notes reflect all treatment performed and the charges that were entered into the computer
  • Gives timely, constructive feedback to PTA student and reviews student documentation prior to insertion into medical record
  • Insures that Rehabilitation Aides use proper techniques when assisting a PTA with a patient
  • Supervises volunteers as needed and in compliance with department and hospital policies
  • Exhibits a desire to continue the development of and the enhancement of clinical knowledge while meeting NJ State continuing education requirements for licensure
  • Demonstrates compliance with findings from QI program findings
  • Participates in inservices and training activities as indicated
