Land Accountant at Homes By West Bay LLC – Riverview, Florida

The Land Accountant is responsible for setting up and monitoring the progress of projects, investigating and understanding variances between actuals and budgets. The Land Accountant will also support the Land Controller in carrying out reporting and month-end required tasks, while consistently demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, dependability, accuracy, professionalism and excellent customer service relations with both internal and external customers. This role is responsible for all aspects of job costing process.

Responsibilities

Lead the administration of contracts and proposals with trade partners.Work with Accounts Payable on timely review and approval of monthly project invoices.Serve as the primary point of contact for the Project Manager(s) on all project related financial tasks.Analyze and monitor all project budgets/costs and share results with Project Manager(s) and Land Team to ensure projects achieve financial expectations.Prepare and effectively review project-based forecasting, including Estimate-At-Complete (EAC)/Estimate-To-Complete (ETC) analyses and assist with Cash Flow projections.Support Project Manager(s) with any administrative and/or filed tasks, development bond release and turnover activities along with organizing Land Department information, reports and files.Maintain open communication with direct management regarding financial results and ensure Project Manager(s) and other senior personnel are aware of risks and opportunities identified during project financial tracking.Maintain, reconcile, and analyze select GL accounts to support the needs of the Finance team.Prepare and submit reports with supporting documents to Land Bankers, as contractually required. Perform other related duties/analysis as assigned or required.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.Minimum Experience: 3-4 years.Preferred Experience: 5-7 years, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Requirements

This is an on-site position based in the Tampa Bay, FL area and will require relocation if you are not currently located in the area. While the role is primarily in-person, there may be limited access to remote work at the discretion of management and based on business needs.This is an exempt role, which may require working more than eight hours per day.Being authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship is a precondition of employment.
