The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
Responsible for scheduling appointments for department. Answers the telephone courteously and in a timely manner. Demonstrates the ability to enter Patient’s demographics insurance information & computer systems accurately & timely. Demonstrates the ability to verify Patient s Insurance Benefits. Advises patient to obtain appropriate Insurance referrals. Demonstrates and maintains the current knowledge of Insurance Companies, State & Federal Healthcare regulations and requirements. Review all work for accuracy and compliance with Hospital, State and/or Federal regulations. Maintains 99 percent or more accuracy rate. Informs manager of problems, which may need immediate attention.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Ability to operate various computer systems
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
- At least one year of medical office experience
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- EPIC experience
- College Degree
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift- 8:00am-4:00pm
- Monday-Friday
- Full Time/Day
Essential Functions:
- Accurately obtains all information needed from initial scheduling of appointment
- Adheres to the guidelines outlined in the facility-wide attendance policy
- Communicates problems to the proper personnel promptly; asks questions to clarify misunderstandings; requests assistance from appropriate personnel in the event of an unusual or difficult situation
- Demonstrates a complete knowledge of all phases of the job
- Demonstrates excellent customer service in communication with callers, visitors, physicians and staff.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
