Position Overview:
Palm House is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our Culinary team. This role is essential to the overall success of our kitchen operations, ensuring that all cookware, dishware, and food preparation equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and returned to service promptly. The Dishwasher supports a safe, organized, and efficient environment that allows our culinary professionals to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This position plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational flow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate dishwashing equipment to properly clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen tools in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free dishwashing and kitchen area at all times.
• Ensure proper sorting, soaking, washing, rinsing, and storage of all items to prevent contamination and damage.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment; notify supervisors when reordering or maintenance is needed.
• Assist with the removal of trash and recycling, ensuring waste is handled in compliance with sanitation guidelines.
• Support kitchen staff by maintaining a continuous supply of clean utensils and equipment during peak service periods.
• Help with basic food preparation tasks, stocking, and kitchen organization as directed by culinary leadership.
• Follow all local health department regulations, company policies, and food safety procedures.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance concerns immediately.
• Work collaboratively with culinary and stewarding team members to ensure efficient back-of-house operations.
• Participate in deep-cleaning assignments and scheduled sanitation projects.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or commercial kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to cleanliness, organization, and teamwork.
• Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to established safety and sanitation procedures.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and stooping to access equipment and storage areas.
• Comfortable working in hot, humid, and wet conditions typical of a commercial kitchen environment.
• Manual dexterity required to safely handle dishware, equipment, and cleaning tools.
