Orthopedic and Podiatry Surgery Coordinator at Holzer Health System – Gallipolis, Ohio

The Orthopedic and Podiatry Surgery Coordinator works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager. Serves as link between patients, providers, and other services needed for transition of care. Ensures appropriate education and support of the Ortho/Pod patients. Collaborates with acute and ambulatory nursing staff, pre-admission staff, pre-certification staff care and providers.

The Ortho/Pod Surgery Coordinator oversees and coordinates the clinical department provider schedules as well as the schedules for the Ambulatory Surgery Center and the HMC-G Surgery Center scheduling for acute, in-patient, and out-patient procedures. Oversees the providers Ortho/Pod practice. Directs, educates and is a resource to authorization coordinators, nursing staff, and office personnel. Provides patient education to the patient for a vast variety of Ortho and Podiatry procedures.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

· CMA higher preferred or MA/Tech with a minimum of 3 years work experience in an ambulatory setting.

· Strong computer skills and ability to learn new clinical information/data via warehouse/cloud-based reporting systems

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Prior healthcare leadership skills desirable

· Evidence of working independently and effectively with other healthcare professionals, patients, patient’s families, or support persons to achieve optimal patient results

· Maintenance of required CEU’s for licensure required

· Excellent patient education skills

· Surgical scheduling experience required

· Strong background in ICD-10 and CPT coding required
