Job Description

ENTEK is seeking applications for a Maintenance Utility (Float) role to join us on-site at our Lebanon, Oregon location.

The Maintenance Utility (Float) is a unique opportunity at ENTEK and is vital to the continuity of our business operations. We are looking for someone that is willing and able to work any shift (days, nights, and/or weekends, 12-hour and/or 8-hour shifts) during any given week.

As a Maintenance Utility, you will receive raw materials (e.g. silica or polymer) delivered by rail car, switch out the rail cars, and check car tagging product reliability and then will transfer the material into the bulk system. When materials arrive late in your shift, you will be responsible for letting the oncoming shift know the status of them so they can be addressed. Throughout the shift, you will monitor and document material levels and will stock silos, bins, load outs, and change out material from bag houses. As part of your end of shift responsibilities, you will ensure that the bulk system is full in prep for the oncoming shift.

Efficient operations requires the Ancillary spaces to always be clean, orderly, and in good working order. You, as the Maintenance Utility support these efforts by sweeping, vacuuming, blowing, and/or pressure washing mix stands, unloading area, bulk rooms, boiler rooms, and utility rooms, and will maintain the cleaning equipment as part of these tasks. You will monitor the secondary containment areas, well flow, monitor oil absorbent booms, and drainage basin filter media, make change outs and/or clean as needed, and assist will splitting and inspecting pulse jet and screens.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Willingness and ability to work any shift (days, nights, and/or weekends) during any given week, including shifts that are 12-hours long.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including following verbal and written direction.
  • Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of written documents.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal multiple variables when only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Satisfactory results from a pre-employment fit-for-duty screen and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift experience.
  • Basic computer skills (email, word processing).

Working Environment

This role is assigned to work three 12-hour shifts and one 6-hour shift per work week OR working a Monday-Friday 8-hour shift, depending on the needs of the Maintenance/Ancillary team. Actual work schedules will vary week by week, based on workforce needs.


Employees in this role spend the majority of time on their feet, and occasionally may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. The work requires the incumbent to have the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, as well as reaching and finger dexterity. They must regularly lift up to 30 pounds, frequently lift up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The job may require the employee to work near moving mechanical parts. Employees in this role also regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, heat, and are occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in the plant environment.


The Maintenance Utility role requires the willingness and ability to wear a half-face respirator as needed, which requires shaving facial hair before reporting to work. The employee will be required to wear eye and hearing protection at all times while working.
