Facilities Coordinator at Hyde Park Schools – Austin, Texas

Hyde Park Schools seeks to hire a full-time Facilities Coordinator for the Speedway campus. This position is responsible for the overall maintenance and operations of building facilities and grounds. The Facilities Coordinator works collaboratively with the Elementary and Middle School Principals and the Speedway Director of Security. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintain a safe, clean, and secure school environment 2. Oversees maintenance task list generated through Google Forms and provides updates on progress to principals and coordinators 3. Routine tasks include painting, furniture construction, and repair, maintenance of lighting needs, mailroom distribution, proper signage in the building, set up/take down of tables and chairs for meeting use, etc. 4. Responds quickly to facility needs impacting classroom instruction or safety 5. Prepare for school and athletic event needs 6. Hours to include some after-school classroom access without students present as needed for maintenance issues 7. Communicate and coordinate with the Hyde Park Baptist Church on facility usage and maintenance 8. Oversight of the cleaning crew's daily tasks 9. Oversight of playgrounds and school grounds cleanliness, maintenance, and routine upkeep 10. Additional tasks as assigned Qualifications of the Position: *Possess knowledge of routine building maintenance and the ability to make minor repairs at the request of staff *Proactively determine needs requiring securing professional electrical or plumbing services *Be highly motivated and able to work with limited supervision and instruction *Willingness to be a team player and able to communicate effectively with staff and administration *Desire to serve students, faculty, and families This position is eligible for all benefits for full-time staff including medical, dental, and vision insurance and a Hyde Park School discount.
