The Opportunity

Lesley University always welcomes applications for adjunct faculty to teach upcoming daytime or evening classes for our areas in Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Subject areas in this department include courses on Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Science, Health Sciences, Math, and Physics. Courses include a range of foundational, general education, and major level classes. Most classes are taught in-person on campus, with some availability for remote or asynchronous courses. All courses with labs are taught on-campus.

Since adjunct faculty positions are ongoing, evergreen positions, your materials will remain on file and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the upcoming semesters. By submitting your application, you will be put into consideration for current and future adjunct positions within the Natural Sciences and Mathematics subject area. We hire adjunct faculty on a regular cadence to support our Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The specific course hired for is subject to change depending on semester, course catalog, and department need.

Qualities & Capabilities

Required:

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or mathematics field

• Successful experience teaching in the particular discipline

• Prior lab teaching experience is required for courses with labs

• Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on student engagement

Preferred:

• PhD or equivalent degree in relevant scientific or mathematics field

• Successful teaching experience in the modality of the course
