About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Occupational Therapist is an experienced occupational therapist who has strong clinical and interpersonal skills. This person is responsible for enhancing departmental success through participating in at least one area of specialty (marketing, quality/performance improvement, patient satisfaction, etc.) as well as provide training to new staff and students, provide at least 2 continuing education sessions for staff annually and maintains strong productivity levels, low cancelation/no show rates and high patient satisfaction. These duties are in addition to managing individualized, goal directed occupational therapy care through use of occupational therapy processes and principles in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures and within the Scope of Practice Act for the State of Alaska.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current licensure in the state of AK or eligible to do so before hire.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy.
- Five years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in the Healthcare/Medical field.
- 125 or more Clinical CEU's by approved agencies.
- Overall rehabilitation knowledge and skills.
PREFERRED:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
