CDL Driver - Transit in Fayetteville, North Carolina at City of Fayetteville

The Transit department provides bus services, 7 days a week. Interested applicants must be available to work during the following hours of operation:

• Monday – Saturday between the hours of 4:55 AM and 10:30 PM
• Sunday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 7:30 PM

As a FAST Transit Operator you must be attentive, have good judgment, be professional, have safe driving habits and most importantly have the ability to provide great customer service.

As a Transit Operator, your responsibilities include:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:
Six months of experience operating buses or similar equipment or completion of the NC Division of Motor Vehicles entry-level driver training (ELDT) program within the last six months and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the City of Fayetteville Driving Standard.

Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS

Required:
A current DOT Medical Card; North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver’s License with an endorsement for air brakes and a passenger endorsement at the time of employment and ability to maintain insurability. Must have an acceptable driving record in accordance with City of Fayetteville driving standard. Click here to view the City's driving standard.

Preferred:
First Aid certification; CPR certification.

From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment DOT drug screen, DOT physical, background check, and a driving history check.
