Seasonal Soccer Coaches in Los Angeles, California at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles

The Soccer Coach is responsible for supporting youth sports programs by coaching teams in a safe, structured, and positive environment. This role focuses on promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and adherence to program rules and guidelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and lead engaging practices focused on skill development and teamwork
• Teach soccer fundamentals in an age-appropriate and inclusive manner
• Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented environment
• Supervise participants and ensure their safety at all times
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program staff
• Promote good sportsmanship and character development
• Assist with set-up and clean-up of equipment and facilities
• Support game-day operations, including basic game management as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION

• Previous experience coaching soccer or working with youth preferred
• Knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and gameplay
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with youth of varying ages and skill levels
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and/or weekends
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING

• Travel between Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles sites and schools and various field trip sites as well as in the community is required. Must meet the insurance standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles.
• This position may be assigned to any sites within the Club as needed to accommodate changes in programming, staffing, or operational requirements.
• Hours are based on school calendar and attendance patterns/trends – evening hours are required during the school year; hours will vary during summer and school breaks; occasional weekend hours are required
