Strategic Account Director - OEM Business

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Account Director - OEM Business based in United States.

This senior leadership role focuses on building and expanding strategic partnerships with automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) through consultative relationship management and business growth strategies.
The Strategic Account Director will serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, helping clients achieve business objectives through innovative marketing technology, customer engagement, CRM, and data-driven solutions.
This position combines automotive industry expertise, enterprise account management, and strategic business development to deliver measurable impact across OEM and dealer networks.
The ideal candidate will understand the complexities of automotive retail ecosystems and translate market challenges into scalable solutions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape customer strategies, drive revenue growth, and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Accountabilities:

The Strategic Account Director will own strategic OEM relationships, driving customer satisfaction, retention, growth, and business expansion. This role requires executive presence, deep automotive knowledge, and the ability to connect client objectives with technology-enabled solutions.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned OEM partners, identifying business priorities, stakeholder relationships, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers across OEM corporate, regional, and dealer network organizations.
  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor for OEM accounts, understanding client goals, retail strategies, digital transformation initiatives, and customer experience priorities.
  • Drive account growth by identifying opportunities to expand solutions across OEM programs, dealer networks, regions, brands, and business units.
  • Lead executive-level presentations, strategic planning sessions, business reviews, and performance discussions.
  • Develop proposals, business cases, pricing strategies, and renewal recommendations in partnership with internal teams.
  • Provide strategic guidance on automotive digital marketing, CRM, customer lifecycle management, dealer engagement, and performance measurement.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, Technology, Customer Success, and Implementation teams to ensure successful program execution.
  • Translate customer needs into internal priorities while advocating for client success and business outcomes.
  • Monitor account health, revenue performance, renewal opportunities, and expansion initiatives through accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Represent the organization at automotive industry events, OEM meetings, dealer conferences, and strategic partner engagements.
  • Maintain expertise in automotive retail trends, OEM programs, competitive developments, and emerging technologies.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive industry leader with a strong background in OEM partnerships, enterprise sales, strategic account management, and customer engagement. You should be comfortable navigating complex organizations, influencing executive stakeholders, and developing long-term business relationships.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working directly with automotive OEMs in areas such as strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, account management, consulting, digital marketing, or automotive technology.
  • Deep understanding of OEM corporate structures, regional/zone operations, dealer networks, and automotive retail ecosystems.
  • Proven success managing complex enterprise accounts with multiple stakeholders and executive relationships.
  • Experience developing strategic recommendations, business reviews, and performance presentations for senior audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive digital marketing, CRM, customer engagement, dealer operations, and performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise sales cycles, contract negotiations, renewals, and growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect customer challenges to measurable solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across product, technology, marketing, operations, and customer teams.
  • Experience with automotive technology platforms, SaaS solutions, data-driven marketing, or customer experience platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry partners and platforms such as automotive data providers, digital marketing ecosystems, and benchmarking organizations is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise CRM platforms such as Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30–50%.
