Position Overview

Ward's Powersports & Carts is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused Part-Time / As-Needed Delivery Driver to join our team. This position plays an important role in delivering powersports vehicles, golf carts, and related equipment to customers while providing a professional and positive delivery experience.

As a Delivery Driver, you will operate company vehicles and trailers, transport customer purchases safely and efficiently, and represent the dealership during customer interactions. The ideal candidate enjoys driving, has experience towing trailers, communicates professionally with customers, and takes pride in maintaining a high standard of safety and service.

This is a part-time, as-needed position. Work hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on seasonal demand, scheduled deliveries, and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport powersports vehicles, golf carts, trailers, and related equipment to customer locations using company trucks and trailers.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and transport equipment.

• Load, unload, secure, and inspect vehicles for transport, ensuring all equipment arrives in the same condition it left the dealership.

• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safe driving practices.

• Review delivery paperwork and obtain required customer signatures and documentation.

• Provide professional, courteous, and helpful customer service during deliveries and pickups.

• Explain basic vehicle operation and safety features to customers when appropriate.

• Coordinate delivery schedules and route information with the sales and service departments.

• Maintain accurate logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation.

• Assist with moving, staging, cleaning, or preparing units on dealership property when not making deliveries.

• Promptly report any vehicle, trailer, equipment, or customer concerns to management.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.

• Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and tow trailers.

• Comfortable towing and maneuvering trailers of various sizes, including backing into residential, commercial, and event locations safely.

• Previous delivery, transportation, towing, equipment hauling, or related experience preferred.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.

• Good organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and maneuver equipment and products weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Comfortable driving locally and traveling longer distances for deliveries as needed.

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Ohio and neighboring states for customer deliveries when required.

• Must successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements, including drug testing, as permitted by law and company policy.

• Ability to pass applicable driving record and background checks.

• Must meet all applicable requirements for operating company vehicles.

Schedule

• Part-Time / As-Needed

• Flexible scheduling based on delivery needs and business demand.

• Hours will vary throughout the year.

• Additional hours may be available during peak sales seasons and special events.

Compensation

Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
