Job Description

The key purpose of this role is to drive business growth in the North American wind market, focusing exclusively on utilities and wind farm owners/operators. The role is strongly oriented toward the existing installed base, supporting customers in improving safety, compliance, reliability, and lifecycle. Performance is achieved through sales of retrofit solutions, upgrades, technical services, inspections, and training.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Focus on Sales: For utilities and asset owners covering retrofit systems, safety upgrades, services, inspections, and training
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Wind Utilities & Account Ownership

  • Act as the primary commercial interface for designated wind utility and asset owner accounts in North America.
  • Develop long-term relationships with stakeholders across Engineering, HSE, Operations, and Procurement.
  • Deeply understand customer installed base and modernization needs.

Retrofit, Safety & Service Solutions

  • Identify opportunities related to
    • Retrofit and modernization of existing wind equipment
    • Safety upgrades and compliance-driven improvements
    • Inspections, maintenance services, and training programs
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to define technically sound and commercially competitive solutions.
  • Position offerings based on risk reduction, safety and efficiency improvement, and lifecycle value, not product features alone.

Financial Management

  • Accountable for collecting cash within plan and group guidelines
  • Accountable for contract establishment, all contracts written within company guidelines or escalated for approval, outlining risks and mitigation strategies
  • Report monthly on lag KPI's (what happened) and lead KPI's (what will happen)
  • Provide accurate and timely Order Intake forecasts
  • Accountable to work within Delegation of Authorities
  • Compliant with policies, systems, and procedures. E.g., Expense and Travel, Vehicle, Phone, Laptop policies etc.

Commercial Offers & Negotiation

  • Prepare, present, and defend technical-commercial proposals and service agreements.
  • Support the definition of pricing strategies aligned with value, margins, and long-term account development.
  • Review and negotiate commercial terms and customer contracts in coordination with internal functions

Opportunity & Project Management

  • Manage sales opportunities from identification to closure.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to ensure alignment with agreed scope, cost, and delivery.
  • Proactively manage deviations and align corrective actions with customers and internal teams.

Market & Strategic Input

  • Track trends in the wind utilities market, including:
    • Safety and regulatory requirements
    • Aging installed base and retrofit demand
    • Competitive and customer behavior evolution
  • Provide structured market feedback to support portfolio and service development.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or compatible technical background
  • Proven experience in B2B sales within the wind industry, preferably working with utilities, OEMs or asset owners.
  • Strong exposure to retrofit solutions, aftermarket services, upgrades, or lifecycle sales.
  • Experience with complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and customer-focused mindset.
  • Structured and disciplined approach to opportunity management.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and managing changing priorities.
  • Credible and confident in discussions with senior customer representatives.
  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical business conduct.
  • Solid technical understanding of wind systems and safety-related equipment.
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into operational and economic value.
  • Advanced English for technical and commercial discussions.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Regular travel within North America is expected.
