Responsibilities
As a leader on the General Dynamics Financial Reporting Team, you will be responsible for directing processes for preparing Securities and Exchange Commission filings and related financial analysis. You will review accounting matters arising from GD’s business operations and interact with senior leadership and business unit financial leaders across the globe to support General Dynamics’ continued success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of the consolidated financial statements, internal management financial information and analysis, and public earnings releases.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), securities registration statements (Forms S-3, S-4) and other regulatory filings, as necessary.
- Research technical accounting matters and implement newly issued accounting standards and SEC rule-making releases across business units.
- Consult with business unit financial management on technical accounting matters. Draft and update internal accounting policies and guidance.
- Prepare internal presentations on accounting and financial reporting matters for senior management, the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Liaise with independent auditors.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Training Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job
- CPA
Experience Requirements:
- 8 years’ experience in “Big 4” public accounting or comparable relevant industry experience.
Other Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
- Ability to work with minimal direction, set priorities and handle multiple tasks, demonstrate good planning and organization skills and act with appropriate business judgment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completeness and accuracy.
- Exemplary professional communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with senior executives.
- Strong public speaking/presentation skills.
- Familiarity with Aerospace & Defense industry technical issues preferable.
- Full proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with Workiva cloud-based SEC reporting and generative AI is desirable.
- Must be willing to work in the CHQ office Monday through Friday during regular business hours and in emergency situations as needed.
Salary Note:
Base salary range: $165,000 to $214,000 per year (goodfaith estimate for this role at the time of posting). Final offer within this range will depend on jobrelated factors such as skills, experience, and market conditions.
