Forge ahead with WSB. WSB is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Power Delivery to lead electric utility projects involving transmission lines, substations, interconnections, system expansions, equipment replacements, capital improvements, and related infrastructure. In this position, you will provide project leadership from early development through engineering, construction support, turnover, and closeout. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, maintain visibility into project performance, and serve as a trusted point of contact for clients and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong project-management fundamentals with practical knowledge of electric transmission and substation systems. This role requires the ability to manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and technical interfaces while supporting multiple projects in a client-focused environment. WSB was founded on the understanding that culture drives results, and we've dedicated ourselves to the value of strong relationships, collaboration, and forward-thinking ideas. We've inspired each other to discover thoughtful and creative solutions that look beyond the needs of today to the opportunities of tomorrow. We invite you to forge ahead with us.

What you will do:

Project Development and Planning

  • Lead the development of project scopes, execution plans, budgets, schedules, resource plans, and project controls.
  • Coordinate with technical leaders to develop labor estimates, assumptions, deliverables, and proposal content.
  • Evaluate project requirements and identify dependencies involving transmission lines, substations, civil design, survey, environmental permitting, right-of-way, procurement, construction, and operations.
  • Facilitate internal and client kickoff meetings and establish clear communication, reporting, and documentation expectations.
  • Develop work plans that define responsibilities, milestones, decision points, and anticipated project risks.
  • Support project initiation and planning for both high-volume programs and complex capital projects.

Project Execution and Controls

  • Manage electric transmission and substation projects through planning, design, procurement, construction support, commissioning coordination, and closeout.
  • Monitor project performance against approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables and manage interfaces among transmission-line, substation, civil, environmental, survey, permitting, and construction teams.
  • Maintain accurate project forecasts, percent-complete information, estimates to complete, and other project-performance indicators.
  • Lead project-status meetings and communicate decisions, commitments, risks, and action items.
  • Provide timely and concise project updates to clients, technical leaders, and company management.
  • Coordinate engineering submittals, design reviews, issued-for-review and issued-for-construction packages, record documentation, and other project milestones.
  • Manage multiple concurrent assignments with different levels of complexity, urgency, and stakeholder involvement.

Financial and Commercial Management

  • Maintain visibility into project budgets, expenditures, forecasts, billings, and overall financial performance.
  • Work with technical and financial teams to verify project progress and prepare accurate invoices.
  • Review project costs and implement appropriate corrective actions when performance varies from the established plan.
  • Manage changes in scope, schedule, assumptions, or deliverables through documented change-management processes.
  • Support contract compliance, project settlement, financial closeout, and the resolution of commercial issues.
  • Communicate emerging financial risks and recommendations to project and business leadership.

Risk, quality, and process improvement

  • Establish and maintain project risk registers, mitigation actions, and escalation plans.
  • Evaluate technical, schedule, cost, permitting, stakeholder, and resource risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review project activities for alignment with client requirements, established procedures, quality expectations, and applicable engineering standards.
  • Identify deviations, process gaps, and recurring delivery challenges, and work with project teams to develop practical improvements.
  • Facilitate lessons-learned discussions and apply relevant findings to future projects.
  • Support the development and consistent use of project-management tools, templates, dashboards, and delivery practices.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Client and stakeholder coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for project scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and delivery matters.
  • Build trusted relationships with utility clients through consistent communication, responsiveness, and informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate effectively with engineering teams, project controls, field personnel, contractors, consultants, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate complex project issues and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Facilitate discussions that bring together technical, operational, financial, and business considerations.
  • Represent WSB in client meetings, project reviews, presentations, conferences, and industry events.
  • Support the identification and development of additional opportunities with existing and prospective power-delivery clients.

Team and resource coordination

  • Work with technical and functional leaders to identify project staffing and resource needs.
  • Coordinate the work of internal team members, partner firms, contractors, and client-provided resources.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of WSB personnel into client teams, programs, and project environments.
  • Establish clear expectations for project responsibilities, deliverables, communication, and accountability.
  • Help project contributors understand how their work affects overall project scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Provide project-level guidance and constructive feedback while maintaining alignment with technical and people leaders.
  • The position may coordinate or oversee the work of consultant and contract personnel.

  • Experience coordinating environmental, permitting, survey, right-of-way, procurement, construction, testing, or commissioning activities.
  • Experience with utility project controls, stage-gate processes, quality-assurance programs, or design standards.
  • Experience working directly for an electric utility or in an embedded client-support role.
