Bayside Kia of Waldorf in Waldorf, MD is looking to hire a qualified Automotive Service Advisor. We are growing, and as a result of that expansion we are looking for dedicated individuals who are ready to join our dealer group. Essential Functions
• Schedule service appointments and obtain customer and vehicle information prior to arrival whenever possible.
• Greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Write up customer concerns accurately and completely on the repair order.
• Handle telephone inquiries.
• Check on the progress of repairs throughout the day.
• Contact customers regarding any change to the estimate or the promised completion time.
• Explain cost and time requirements in detail and obtain proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and on the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Work closely with technicians and with the parts, sales, and other dealership departments to achieve a common goal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Two years of experience as an automotive service advisor preferred.
• A strong passion for working with people and automobiles.
• A self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail.
• A results-oriented individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and coordinate effectively across departments.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works in an automotive dealership environment and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, oils and solvents, fumes or airborne particles, varying temperatures, and wet or humid conditions. The noise level in the shop areas is usually loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and to operate a computer. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Work hours and days must be flexible and will include evening hours and weekends.
