The Process Optimization Engineer will support the deployment of advanced industrial software solutions that improve manufacturing performance through real-time optimization and operational intelligence.
This role combines industrial engineering expertise, automation knowledge, and hands-on project delivery skills to help customers successfully implement innovative technologies.
You will work directly with plant teams, engineering specialists, and technical stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation from validation through operational launch.

The Process Optimization Engineer will be responsible for delivering successful software implementation projects across industrial customer sites, ensuring technical readiness, operational alignment, and long-term solution adoption. This role requires strong technical problem-solving abilities, customer collaboration skills, and the ability to manage implementation activities in complex manufacturing environments.
- Execute on-site implementation, commissioning, testing, and start-up activities at customer manufacturing facilities.
- Validate industrial connectivity, communication systems, signals, and data availability required for successful software deployment.
- Support configuration reviews, operational validation, and implementation of industrial optimization solutions.
- Serve as the technical liaison between plant operations and internal engineering, data science, and project delivery teams.
- Gather operational requirements, identify technical limitations, and translate customer needs into actionable implementation plans.
- Coordinate technical and functional testing with automation teams, maintenance personnel, IT/OT teams, and engineering stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during implementation and commissioning phases to ensure project continuity.
- Document project progress, configuration updates, technical issues, testing results, and key milestones.
- Collect operational data, system logs, evidence, and customer feedback to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers to coordinate activities, manage risks, and deliver projects successfully.
- Support customer training initiatives and facilitate knowledge transfer to maintenance and customer success teams.
- Share lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across implementation projects.
The ideal candidate has experience delivering industrial technology projects and working directly within manufacturing environments. This role requires a combination of engineering knowledge, automation expertise, customer-facing communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in field-based settings.
- Degree or equivalent technical background in Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience delivering industrial technology, automation, commissioning, start-up, or implementation projects within manufacturing environments.
- Experience working directly on industrial plant sites during implementation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, control systems, instrumentation, SCADA, historians, OPC, industrial communications, and IT/OT environments.
- Experience collaborating with plant operators, maintenance teams, automation engineers, and customer stakeholders.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical challenges in industrial environments.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and project coordination capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Comfortable working independently and traveling regularly to customer sites throughout the Americas.
- Professional fluency in English required.
- Spanish language skills are highly preferred for collaboration with international teams.
- Experience with industrial optimization platforms, Advanced Process Control (APC), industrial analytics, or process optimization software is a plus.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools is preferred.
- Previous consulting or customer-facing technical implementation experience is advantageous.
- Experience in industries such as cement, mining, metals, chemicals, pulp and paper, or other process industries is beneficial.
