Senior Software Licensing Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Licensing Specialist based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to manage critical software licensing operations and support customers throughout the renewal and sales lifecycle.
You will oversee licensing requests, prepare accurate quotes, and ensure smooth coordination between customers, vendors, and internal teams.
The position combines operational excellence, customer relationship management, and strong knowledge of SaaS licensing processes.
You will play a key role in maintaining accurate licensing data, improving workflows, and supporting business growth opportunities.
The role provides exposure to global software ecosystems, enterprise customers, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple regions.
You will contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences while optimizing licensing operations in a fast-paced technology environment.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Software Licensing Specialist will be responsible for managing software licensing activities, renewal processes, and customer communications while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

  • Manage the complete software licensing and maintenance renewal lifecycle, ensuring timely execution and high-quality customer service.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain software licensing quotes for new licenses, renewals, upgrades, and cross-grade opportunities.
  • Manage licensing requests and renewal opportunities while prioritizing activities according to business needs and service expectations.
  • Research customer contracts, licensing entitlements, renewal history, and software requirements to ensure accurate quotes and compliance.
  • Monitor customer renewal schedules and proactively engage stakeholders to support successful contract renewals.
  • Process licensing orders, renewal confirmations, and related documentation while maintaining a seamless customer experience.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for software licensing and renewal inquiries, providing timely responses and managing expectations.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Consulting, Delivery, Finance, Accounts Receivable, Collections, and other internal teams to support licensing opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, software vendors, and internal stakeholders to improve service quality and operational outcomes.
  • Identify renewal, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities and communicate relevant insights to sales teams.
  • Maintain accurate customer, contract, licensing, and renewal information across Salesforce and other business systems.
  • Prepare renewal pipeline reports, operational updates, and performance insights for management visibility.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by documenting, streamlining, and automating licensing workflows.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced software licensing professional with strong analytical abilities, customer management skills, and experience supporting SaaS renewal operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Licensing, Software Renewals, Sales Operations, Customer Success, Contracts Administration, or Sales Support.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in a corporate environment.
  • Experience supporting B2B SaaS software licensing and subscription renewal processes.
  • Proven experience preparing software licensing quotations and managing renewal pipelines.
  • Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience managing operational data.
  • Hands-on experience using Salesforce CRM and maintaining data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams across different time zones.
  • Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn software products, licensing models, and vendor programs.
  • Experience with Salesforce automation, workflow configuration, sales operations, contracts administration, or software licensing renewals is a plus.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Jira, Jira Service Management, AWS Marketplace, Splunk, Agile/DevOps tools, or other enterprise software solutions is advantageous.
  • Experience working with software vendors, channel partners, and subscription-based business models is preferred.
  • Ability to work during US shift timings, primarily 6:30 PM – 3:30 AM IST.
