We're growing! Sunshine Communities is currently seeking a talented, experienced individual to join our Information Technology leadership team.


SUMMARY: The Vice President of Information Technology is a senior technology executive responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, security, reliability, and regulatory compliance of the organization's technology infrastructure.

This role leads enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, network operations, cybersecurity, telecommunications, end-user computing, data center operations, and disaster recovery programs and projects that support clinical, residential, behavioral health, administrative, and community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Vice President of Information Technology serves as the strategic bridge between Sunshine's mission, operations, and technology. This leader partners with departments across the organization to understand operational challenges, identify innovative technology solutions, and lead enterprise-wide initiatives that improve services, increase efficiency, and enhance the experience of employees, individuals supported, and families. The role combines technology leadership, business partnership, and leading change while preparing for future executive technology leadership.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute an enterprise technology roadmap aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional technology implementations from planning through adoption.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year infrastructure and technology operations strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Advise CIO and Executive Leadership on infrastructure investments, cybersecurity risks, emerging technologies, and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, virtualization, and network transformation.
  • Partner with the Director of Operational Excellence and others to redesign workflows before implementing technology.
  • Translate operational needs into technical solutions and technical concepts into understandable language.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI, analytics, business intelligence, assistive technology, and digital transformation.
  • Lead vendor evaluations, software implementations, and technology partnerships.
  • Expand data-informed decision making through reporting and dashboards.
  • Champion change management, employee engagement, and technology adoption.
  • Participate in cybersecurity, business continuity, and technology governance initiatives.
  • Measure outcomes and return on investment for technology initiatives.

Infrastructure Operations

Oversee enterprise infrastructure operations, including:

  • Data centers and cloud environments
  • Enterprise networking and telecommunications
  • Server and storage platforms
  • End-user computing
  • Collaboration platforms
  • Identity and access management
  • Ensure high availability and performance of systems supporting clinical and business operations.
  • Establish service-level agreements (SLAs), operational metrics, and continuous improvement programs across the organization.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Lead the organization's infrastructure security strategy.
  • Partner with compliance and privacy teams to protect sensitive health information.
  • Ensure implementation of cybersecurity frameworks, controls, monitoring, and incident response programs.

Financial Management

  • Assist with the development of infrastructure operating and capital budgets.
  • Assist with evaluation and negotiation of technology contracts and vendor agreements.
  • Optimize infrastructure investments for cost effectiveness and operational value.
  • Establish financial accountability through capacity planning and lifecycle management.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Mentor managers and technical teams responsible for infrastructure operations and engineering.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Develop workforce plans supporting future technology needs.
  • Build and maintain high-performing teams across multiple locations and service environments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field is required.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
  • 7+ years leading enterprise infrastructure, network, cloud, and technology operations teams.
  • Experience within healthcare, behavioral health, human services, post-acute care, long-term care, or developmental disability services preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives.

  • Ability to respond to emergency technology outages or critical incidents outside of normal business hours, which may require extended periods of standing, walking, or moving equipment.
