General Description
- Manage material supply chain to meet production requirements and operational needs.
- The material planner places appropriate purchase orders to suppliers for the needed resources.
Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility is to manage supply line material while meeting production needs.
- Issue purchase order to supplier based on terms and lead time.
- Maintain appropriate material inventory level based on safety stock and component level.
- Reports potential short stock issues and remedy plan in daily production meeting.
- Ensure materials arrives on-time and properly establishes appropriate inventory levels for the supply chain.
- Support Service Production by placing appropriate orders for service related material
- Managing engineering changes and build-out schedules to minimize obsolescence.
- Expedite part shortages with shortage root cause investigation and resolution. Utilizes expedite shipping methods through manager approval process for addressing potential short stock issues.
- Provide direct material payable documentation and detail.
Job Requirements
Work Experience
- Manufacturing and production environment
- Business administration and logistics
- Knowledgeable of shipping procedures and requirement
Education
- BS Business Administration, Logistics, or Operations Management
- Adequate computer software skills or equivalent training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong autonomous ability to problem solving.
- Able to work under pressure and independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, at all levels
- Able to identify and resolve critical paths in the manufacturing processes.
- Willing to make difficult and tough decisions.
- SAP & WMS software
