S&S Transport, Inc of Grand Forks is looking to add a Warehouse Associate/Yard Jockey to our Warehouse team! Join a family owned and operated company who has been in the logistics industry for over 40 years! Choose your schedule! This position is Monday through Friday with the occasional rotating Saturday. This position requires a valid Class A CDL.

The Warehouse Associate/Yard Driver keeps freight moving efficiently and accurately by moving and staging trailers in the yard and handling the receiving, storage, loading, and shipping of products in the warehouse. This role helps maintain accurate inventory and product quality and works as part of a team to meet customer and company expectations.

Loading & Material Handling

• Properly cube, load, and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand, working to a zero-damage standard.
• Secure freight to prevent damage and shifting in transit by blocking and bracing and using load bars, straps, dunnage, and air bags.
• Inspect incoming product and pallets for quantity, condition, and damage, and report discrepancies.

Yard Operations

• Maneuver tractor-trailers and other large equipment in the yard, and accurately set up, break down, and hook trailers to support loading and unloading.
• Complete daily yard checks and accurately record trailer moves in company systems.
• Communicate with dispatch, drivers, and the warehouse team to keep trailers and freight moving on schedule.

Inventory, Quality & Food Safety

• Store and rotate product (first in, first out) in the correct locations, and assist with cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory.
• Follow quality, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including proper storage, sanitation, PPE use, and AIB standards where applicable.
• Keep the yard, dock, and warehouse clean, organized, and audit-ready.

Equipment & Safety

• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment, and promptly report maintenance concerns or hazards.
• Follow company safety rules and attend all required training.

Other Duties

• Perform dock duties and other warehouse tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

• Ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling freight and recording information.
• Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Able to read, understand, and follow written procedures and maintenance instructions.
• Clear communicator and team player with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new tools and systems.

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• A valid CDL and acceptable MVR are required if driving on public roads.
• Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Prior warehouse, yard, or food-grade experience preferred.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Reports to the Warehouse Manager.

This is a full-time, on-site position, Monday through Friday with the occasional rotating Saturday. The role involves hands-on work in the warehouse, on the dock, and outdoors in the yard in all weather conditions.

• Standing, lifting, twisting, turning, and climbing a ladder throughout the shift.
• Pushing or pulling a loaded pallet jack or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
• Dropping and hooking trailers, including cranking landing gear, pulling the fifth-wheel pin (approximately 65 lbs. of pressure), and maneuvering a trailer dolly.

Pay is based on experience.
