Since 1950, Ray Graham Association (RGA) has been dedicated to empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach, grow, and achieve. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Facilities Construction Coordinator to oversee facility construction, maintenance, and capital improvement projects that support more than 35 residential homes and program locations throughout DuPage County.

This role combines project coordination, contract administration, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and vendor management to ensure RGA facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant while supporting the organization's mission.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate construction, renovation, maintenance, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion.
  • Manage the Facilities Department work order system and coordinate daily maintenance requests.
  • Develop and administer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), Invitations for Bid, contracts, purchase requisitions, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, invoices, inspections, and contractor performance.
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal departments to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Support preventive maintenance planning and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with ADA requirements, fire and life safety regulations, OSHA standards, environmental requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate hazardous materials documentation, reporting, storage, and disposal.
  • Assist with annual facilities budgets, financial reporting, capital planning, and grant-funded projects.
  • Review contractor insurance certificates, bonds, permits, and required documentation.
  • Evaluate facility conditions and recommend repairs, upgrades, and long-term improvements.
  • Provide guidance and onboarding support for Facilities team members and temporary staff.
  • Serve as a liaison with program leadership regarding facility needs and project status.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree or equivalent coursework in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, construction coordination, maintenance, project administration, budgeting, purchasing, or contract administration.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Strong organizational, budgeting, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized work order or facilities management systems.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license with the ability to travel throughout DuPage County.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, education, or residential facilities.
  • Knowledge of construction drawings, building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and capital planning.
  • Experience with ERP systems, project management software, and facilities management platforms.
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance, life safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular travel between residential homes and program facilities throughout DuPage County. Employees must be able to inspect facilities, walk construction sites, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, and work in both office and field environments.
