Person Specification

The successful candidate will be organized, approachable, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information with sound judgment. The role requires a professional, service-oriented individual who can manage competing priorities while working effectively with employees at all organizational levels. As SHD Composites continues to grow, the responsibilities and advancement opportunities associated with this position may also expand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-employment activities, including background screenings, drug screenings, new-hire documentation, and required follow-up.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and assist with new-hire orientation, employment forms, and HR system enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential personnel files and electronic employee records.
  • Enter and update employee information in ADP Workforce Now and support data integrity within the HRIS.
  • Support weekly payroll processing by reviewing timecards, attendance records, employee changes, and related payroll documentation.

  • Monitor required training and maintain accurate training, certification, and completion records.
  • Support performance-management, employee-engagement, recognition, and workforce-development initiatives.
  • Assist with employment verifications, unemployment claims, workers' compensation documentation, and required reporting.
  • Prepare reports relating to headcount, recruiting, turnover, absenteeism, overtime, and other workforce metrics.
  • Help coordinate employee meetings, training sessions, company events, and recognition activities.
  • Respond professionally to routine employee questions and appropriately escalate employee-relations or other complex matters to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Support compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, confidentiality standards, and record-retention requirements.
  • Perform other HR and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of human resources, payroll, recruiting, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting employees in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or another HRIS/payroll platform is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assignments within established deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Professional, patient, service-oriented, and comfortable working with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
