Constantly pursuing excellence in people, products and performance. Our Production Team is currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to join us and succeed.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supervising production or support (maintenance, Shipping) divisions. This position is evaluated based on the success of managing the overall Production Objectives within each division. Specific measures include, but are not limited to, output per hour, scrap material consumption tracking, labor utilization, efficiencies, gross profit, work order completion, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Plan operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization, and safe function.
- Achieves assigned production goals.
- Ability to carry out short- and long-term tactical planning.
- Manage, develop, train, and motivate department personnel to achieve divisional and individual production goals.
- Resolve employee complaints and address internal customer inquiries in a timely, positive, win/win manner.
- Create a quality work environment to achieve partnerships with other production areas, support functions, and corporate departments.
- Works with the Plant Superintendent and production team to develop and track against a production plan reflective of the defined project goals as set by the studio creative director.
- Continue to strive for continuous improvement through all areas of responsibility.
- Achieve and maintain maximum efficiency levels to support the cost projections.
- Identify, train, assign, and coordinate team activities, within area of responsibility, using established processes.
- Participate as leaders and champions of natural work teams and cross-functional work teams as assigned.
- Assist the Operations Manager in special projects as requested.
- Understand, communicate, and enforce the policies established by the company.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical training preferred; alternatively, equivalent production management experience or a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
SKILLS:
- Assertive self-starter who can motivate others with strong sense of urgency and energy level in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to compile and utilize data and/or Lean methods for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs.
- Ability to develop, foster, and maintain a team-oriented work environment.
- Superior problem-solving skills and the ability to drive innovation through education, respect, and collaboration.
- Strong planning, resourcing, and effective delegation skills.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with ERP, MRP or other integrated scheduling software systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on equipment maintenance.
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, or platforms.
- Bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and crawl to access machinery.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Distinguish colors on wiring or indicators.
- Adequate hearing to detect abnormal machine noises or alarms.
- Comfortable working in hot or cold environments.
