SLCA Referral Program
SouthLake Christian Academy employees are encouraged to refer qualified candidates for School Bus Driver positions. Interested applicants should apply online and may indicate the referring employee's name in their application.

If the applicant is successfully hired as a School Bus Driver, the referring employee will receive a $50 referral bonus. For more information, please contact Brelend Wiggins, Transportation Director, or Jennifer Ramos, Human Resources Director.

3 Steps to Become a Bus Driver:
1. Complete 3-day online training class, offered monthly
2. Take a DMV written test for 1.5 hours
3. Take a driver test on campus with DMV Rep for 1-3 hours

JOB DUTIES
Route Bus Driver
- Mornings and afternoons with a guaranteed 4 hours per day / 20 hours per week.

Activities Bus Driver
- Afternoons and evenings; primarily athletic trips for away games and field trips.
- Time begins when you leave with the team and runs until you return with the team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Drivers must have a CDL with school bus (P/S) endorsement.
2. A DOT physical is required which will be provided by the school.
3. A clear drug test as well as there will be random drug/alcohol screenings.
4. Give evidence of a Biblical worldview and a personal spiritual commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
5. Be committed to and in agreement with the philosophy and objectives of Southlake Christian Academy.
6. CPR certification required. Training is available on campus.
7. Background check required.
8. Demonstrate good communication skills and be able to work as a contributing member of the Southlake community.

WORK SHIFT
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Morning shift, Afternoon shift, Split shift
