Job Description
We’re looking for an Operating Room Assistant who is ready to support our perioperative team and help keep surgical services running efficiently. Under the supervision of the OR Director, Manager, or Charge Nurse, you’ll transport patients, clean operating and treatment rooms, assist with room turnover between surgical procedures, and restock supplies as instructed.
We value flexibility, professionalism, independence, clear communication, and strong customer service skills. This role is an important part of maintaining a well-supported surgical environment for our patients and care teams.
Key Responsibilities

Transport patients as assigned within the perioperative department.

Clean operating rooms, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas of the department.

Assist with room turnover between surgical procedures.

Restock supplies as instructed.

Work independently while taking direction from the OR Director, Manager, Charge Nurse, and other appropriate team members.

Interact professionally with coworkers.

Remain flexible and adapt to changing needs within the perioperative environment.

Participate in standby and emergency callback responsibilities in accordance with RRH's Surgery on-call policy.
Collaborative Teamwork
This role involves working closely with our team to deliver effective, patient-focused services and contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.

One year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred or related experience desired.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire.

Ability to adhere to RRH's Standby and Emergency Callback (Surgery) on-call policy.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to take direction well and interact professionally with coworkers.

Flexible and able to adapt to ever-changing environments.

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
-
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language.

Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, and coworkers.
