Head of PSP and banking -FX in Haciendas del Canada, Nuevo León at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of PSP and banking - FX based in Canada.

This senior remote role offers the opportunity to lead the full payments and banking function within a fast-growing international FX environment. You will own the strategy for PSPs, acquirers, banks, and payment infrastructure across multiple markets. The role combines commercial negotiations, payment optimization, risk management, and operational oversight. You will focus on improving approval rates, controlling costs, and ensuring smooth client deposits and withdrawals. The position has direct influence on revenue, client experience, and the resilience of the payment ecosystem. You will also lead a payments team and work closely with Compliance, Finance, Risk, Retention, and Technology stakeholders.

• Own and execute the overall PSP and banking strategy across all relevant markets.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard new PSPs, acquirers, and banking partners.
• Manage strategic relationships with existing payment and banking providers.
• Optimize payment routing and cascading to improve transaction performance and approval rates.
• Improve deposit approval rates while managing payment costs and operational efficiency.
• Oversee chargebacks, card scheme compliance, and high-risk merchant payment requirements.
• Maintain backup PSPs and banking relationships to mitigate de-risking, provider closures, and service disruptions.
• Oversee safeguarding arrangements and client money accounts.
• Monitor PSP performance, approval rates, costs, and other payment KPIs.
• Partner with Compliance, Finance, Risk, Retention, and Technology teams on payments-related initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and support the payments team while driving operational excellence.

Requirements:

• Proven professional experience within an FX or CFD brokerage is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of experience in payments, PSP, acquiring, or banking roles.
• Strong professional network across PSPs, acquirers, banks, and payment providers.
• Proven experience sourcing, negotiating, onboarding, and managing payment providers.
• Strong knowledge of card acquiring, alternative payment methods, and local payment methods.
• Experience optimizing payment routing and cascading strategies.
• Expertise in high-risk merchant environments and chargeback management.
• Working knowledge of AML/KYC, PSD2, and 3DS requirements.
• Experience working with CySEC and FCA regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and client money account management.
• Strong commercial skills, including fee and contract negotiation.
• Ability to analyze payment KPIs, approval rates, costs, and provider performance.
• Previous team leadership and people management experience.
• Fluent English with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
