Corporate Development & Market Strategy Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Development & Market Strategy Lead based in the United States.

This remote role is a senior individual-contributor opportunity focused on accelerating growth through corporate development, market intelligence, and strategic expansion within agricultural technology. You will evaluate high-impact opportunities including M&A, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and new market entry. The role combines financial modeling, transaction analysis, market sizing, competitive intelligence, and commercial strategy. You will work closely with product, finance, legal, sales, marketing, and executive stakeholders to turn complex market data into actionable growth decisions. Your insights will help shape expansion into new geographies and crop segments while informing product, pricing, and go-to-market strategies. This is an opportunity to contribute to technology-driven solutions addressing real-world challenges across the agricultural value chain.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and manage the corporate development pipeline, identifying and evaluating potential acquisitions, strategic investments, commercial relationships, joint ventures, and channel partnerships aligned with long-term growth objectives.
  • Partner with go-to-market leaders to structure, negotiate, and frame high-impact commercial relationships across the agricultural ecosystem, balancing strategic, commercial, and operational considerations.
  • Build comprehensive business cases and financial valuation models to assess potential transactions and growth opportunities, coordinating cross-functional due diligence with Product, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Research and screen prospective acquisition targets based on product portfolio fit, strategic priorities, market attractiveness, and long-term corporate objectives, supporting opportunities from initial sourcing through deal structuring and integration planning.
  • Conduct rigorous TAM, SAM, and SOM analyses to evaluate expansion opportunities across new geographies, crop segments, and agricultural markets.
  • Synthesize agricultural production data, commercial trends, grower behavior, competitive intelligence, and market information into clear strategic assessments that support market expansion, product development, and sales strategy.
  • Translate market research into actionable briefs for Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and Commercial Enablement teams, including buyer personas, regional market challenges, and pricing framework considerations.
  • Monitor macroeconomic agricultural trends, regulatory developments, carbon-credit markets, biological product approval frameworks, sustainability incentives, and emerging technologies to identify risks and opportunities affecting market position.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agronomy, Business, Finance, or a related field, with an MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in corporate development, strategic marketing, management consulting, venture capital, or a related strategic function, preferably within AgTech, SaaS, applied technology, precision agriculture, or similar sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience independently building market models, analyzing market-share data, evaluating transaction structures, and developing business cases that support senior-level strategic decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of the agricultural value chain, ideally gained through direct experience working with growers, retail distributors, equipment OEMs, agronomic service providers, or related agricultural workflows.
  • Advanced financial and analytical modeling capabilities, including financial valuation and market-sizing methodologies, with the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, executive-ready presentations.
  • Strong strategic judgment and the ability to evaluate whether opportunities are best addressed through acquisition, internal development, strategic partnership, or other growth approaches.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to align commercial and operational priorities and effectively collaborate with sales leaders, functional teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to work independently in a senior individual-contributor capacity while managing multiple strategic workstreams and maintaining a high level of analytical rigor.
  • Experience with deal execution, M&A integration, or strategic alliance negotiation within AgTech, SaaS, IoT, or related technology sectors is highly valued.
  • An MBA, Master’s in Finance or Agribusiness, or CFA designation is a plus, as is a strong professional network across agricultural technology, retail distribution, OEM, and agronomic service ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with carbon markets, biological registration frameworks, and environmental sustainability incentives is advantageous.
Benefits:
  • Annual salary range of $108,000–$164,000 USD, with offers generally determined by demonstrated experience and level of expertise.
  • Fully remote work or hybrid office flexibility, depending on role requirements and location.
  • Comprehensive health plans designed to support employee wellbeing.
  • Eligibility to participate in a 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Generous vacation policy and a year-end winter break to support meaningful time away from work.
  • Collaborative and supportive work environment with opportunities to contribute to sustainable food production and technology-driven agricultural innovation.
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact corporate development, market expansion, M&A, and strategic partnership initiatives within a growing agricultural technology environment.
