COMMUNITY HEALTH:

Community Health is a multi-site FQHC serving 80% of the primary care needs in our community (central Vermont). Our mission is to service our patients with quality, efficiency, accessibility and equity. As the largest FQHC in northern New England, we have a large footprint that provides us with the opportunity to influence the evolving, local, state and regional health care environment.

Community Health Center sites are certified Level 111 Medical Homes, with a highly developed and supportive panel management and case management system in place. Community Health also has a robust integrated behavioral health program employing Psychiatrists, Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioners and Licensed Clinical Social Workers embedded within its primary care sites. We have a fully integrated electronic medical record and practice management system (Medent) with robust interfaces with our local hospital.


ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Practice Manager is responsible for personnel management and oversight of the daily operations of the main practice. The manager is responsible for the enforcement of all Community Health policies and procedures. They are also responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating all staff and activities of the practice(s) to provide high quality, cost-effective care.


FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Selects, hires, trains, coach, and counsel personnel as required to ensure efficient and effective office work.Manages and coordinates all staff/provider schedules.Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.Ensures that office space, supplies, equipment, and assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care.Coordinates day to day operations at the sites.Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities, as necessary. Ensures that the office is staffed appropriately.


SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Preferred degree in Health or Business Administration.Five years of operational management experience.Knowledge of fiscal management practices and human resource management techniques.Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement requirements.
