Job Description
SERVICE MANAGER — FIXED OPERATIONS
Minnesota Truck Headquarters • Monticello, MN • Full-Time • Monday–Friday
EVERY INQUIRY AND EVERY INTERVIEW IS STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.
We know the best service managers are already working somewhere. Nothing you send us leaves
ownership, and no one hears from us about you — not your employer, not your references, not anyone
in this market — unless you tell us to. Read our full commitment below before you decide whether to
reach out.
The building work is done. Minnesota Truck Headquarters is Minnesota’s largest pre-owned pickup,
SUV, and car dealer, and we’ve just completed a full renovation of our 12,000 square foot service
facility. Now we’re hiring the leader to run it.
Most service managers inherit someone else’s layout, someone else’s equipment, and someone else’s
problems. Here, the facility is finished and the process is yours to write. What we need is the
operational leadership to match the investment.
Fixed operations at a high-volume pre-owned dealership carries a dual mandate: take care of retail
service customers, and keep reconditioning moving so sales always has fresh inventory. Doing both
well is the job — and doing it well makes you central to how this business performs.
What Makes This One Different
• A hiring process that protects you. Confidential from the first email to the final handshake. See
our commitment below.
• No factory warranty work. Every hour this shop sells is customer-pay, internal reconditioning, or
service contract. No warranty claims, no warranty labor rates, no factory audits, no policy
adjustments.
• No weekends. The shop runs Monday through Friday. You get your Saturdays back.
• A finished facility. 12,000 square feet, newly renovated, modern equipment. The investment is
already made.
• Direct access to ownership. You report to ownership, with real authority to make decisions and no
layers to work through.
What You’ll Do
• Lead all fixed operations — service, service advising, and parts coordination
• Own the daily operation of the shop: production, profitability, and customer experience
• Manage reconditioning throughput and cycle time in partnership with sales and inventory
• Hire, train, and develop technicians, advisors, and support staff — including a clear tier and
certification path
• Own the service P&L: labor gross, parts gross, effective labor rate, hours per repair order, and
technician efficiency
• Build an appointment and dispatch system that keeps the shop loaded and minimizes customer wait
time
• Establish and enforce shop process — workflow, quality control, and comeback reduction
• Drive customer satisfaction and retention through communication standards and follow-up
discipline
• Manage vendor relationships, sublet, and shop supplies; control expenses and department assets
• Report performance to ownership with accuracy and candor
• Set the tone: a shop people are proud to work in and customers trust
Our Confidentiality Commitment
Changing jobs is risky when you are the person running a department. So here is exactly what
“confidential” means at Minnesota Truck Headquarters — in writing, before you send us anything:
• Ownership only. Your resume and your inquiry are read by ownership and no one else. Nothing is
circulated internally, posted, or handed to a third-party recruiter.
• No calls without your say-so. We will not contact your current employer, your references, or
anyone in your network until you give us permission — and not a day before.
• Interviews on your terms. Off-site, early, after hours, or by video — whichever keeps this quiet.
We will work around your schedule so you never have to explain an absence.
• It ends where it ends. If it is not the right fit for either of us, the conversation stays
between us. Nothing is kept, shared, or mentioned to anyone in this market.
Reach out. Ask questions. You are not committing to anything by having a conversation.
How to Apply
Apply through Indeed with your resume and a short note about a service department you improved
— and how you measured it. Your application goes directly to ownership, and nothing moves forward
without your say-so.
Minnesota Truck Headquarters is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will
receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin,
disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Prepared by Vision Management Group.
