Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Commercial Account Management based in United States.
This is a senior people-leadership role focused on building and developing a high-performing Commercial Account Management organization serving primarily mid-market customers. You will lead a team responsible for retention, renewals, expansion, adoption, customer health, and recurring-revenue performance. The role combines strategic leadership with strong operational discipline, requiring you to establish standards, coaching practices, playbooks, and forecasting rhythms that make customer and commercial outcomes repeatable. You will partner extensively across Sales, Solutions Architecture, Compliance Advisory, Product, Marketing, RevOps, Finance, and other teams to remove obstacles and improve customer value. This position does not carry an individual book of business, allowing you to focus fully on team performance, talent development, and scalable operating models. It is an opportunity to shape a growing post-sales organization in a fast-moving B2B SaaS and regulated-technology environment.
- Hire, coach, develop, and retain Commercial Account Managers by establishing clear expectations, performance standards, development plans, and career paths while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
- Establish consistent standards for account planning, customer engagement, CRM hygiene, forecasting, commercial execution, and operational discipline through regular coaching, feedback, account reviews, and performance management.
- Own team performance across gross retention, on-time renewals, expansion, net revenue retention, product adoption, customer health, and forecast accuracy, translating broader business objectives into measurable team targets and action plans.
- Provide leadership with forward-looking visibility into commercial risks and opportunities by analyzing account performance, pipeline, renewal timing, customer health, and other relevant business indicators.
- Coach Account Managers on renewal and expansion strategies, inspect complex or at-risk accounts, and develop repeatable commercial plays that improve retention, growth, and customer outcomes.
- Set the quality standard for customer success planning, value realization, product adoption, executive engagement, and ongoing customer health across the team's portfolio.
- Monitor systemic risks across the book of business, strengthen early-warning practices, coordinate mitigation efforts, and ensure customer issues are addressed before they become significant commercial risks.
- Ensure team members can engage credibly in governance, risk, and compliance discussions and understand when to involve specialized Compliance Advisors or other subject-matter experts.
- Serve as a senior escalation leader for complex or high-stakes customer situations, coordinating the appropriate internal resources and ensuring issues are resolved with strong customer and business outcomes.
- Run the team's operating cadence across account reviews, renewal and expansion reviews, forecasting, risk management, and performance management, using data and structured processes to drive accountability.
- Leverage Salesforce, customer-success and revenue platforms, AI, and automation to improve prioritization, reporting, data quality, forecasting, and the effectiveness of customer engagement.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Solutions Architecture, Support, Sales Engineering, Compliance Advisory, Sales, Product, Marketing, Professional Services, RevOps, Finance, and other teams to remove roadblocks and improve the customer experience.
- Identify recurring customer patterns and voice-of-customer insights and translate them into actionable recommendations for product, onboarding, enablement, positioning, and post-sales improvements.
- Bring 8+ years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Strategic Account Management, Consulting, or a related post-sales function within B2B SaaS.
- Have 3+ years of experience managing quota-carrying Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, or comparable post-sales professionals, with demonstrated responsibility for team performance and commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrate a successful track record leading teams responsible for renewals, retention, expansion, adoption, customer health, and recurring-revenue growth.
- Bring meaningful experience in governance, risk and compliance (GRC), cybersecurity, security, compliance, identity, or another adjacent regulated-technology environment.
- Have experience managing and growing mid-market or Commercial customer relationships involving multiple stakeholders, complex requirements, and meaningful business impact.
- Possess a strong understanding of the intersection between commercial account management and customer success, with the ability to coach teams on success planning, value realization, risk management, renewal execution, negotiation, and expansion.
- Demonstrate proven ability to hire, coach, develop, and retain high-performing teams through clear standards, continuous feedback, accountability, and fair performance management.
- Have experience designing or improving team-level operating models, including account-management playbooks, coverage models, forecasting processes, reporting frameworks, and cross-functional workflows.
- Bring strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence customers, direct reports, peers, and senior leadership.
- Be comfortable navigating multi-threaded customer organizations and coaching others to build relationships across business, operational, technical, and executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, forecasting, prioritization, and organizational capabilities, with the ability to translate performance data into concrete actions and strategic decisions.
- Have experience using Salesforce and customer-success or revenue-management platforms, with the adaptability to work effectively as systems and processes evolve.
- Bring a collaborative, customer-centered leadership style and the ability to remain effective in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment.
- Demonstrate curiosity about AI and automation and an understanding of how modern tools can improve team productivity, prioritization, customer engagement, and operational scalability.
- Expected on-target earnings (OTE) of $212,500–$325,833 USD, with actual compensation determined by factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and overall alignment with the role.
- Additional equity compensation designed to provide meaningful ownership and participation in the organization's growth.
- Up to 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their dependents, supported by comprehensive wellness resources and healthcare concierge services.
- Financial benefits including a 401(k) plan, company-paid life and disability insurance, tax-advantaged spending accounts, and discounted voluntary benefits.
- Paid parental leave available after six months of employment, along with fertility and family-building support through Kindbody and dedicated leave specialists.
- Generous annual stipends for professional and personal development, plus access to internal learning opportunities and career-growth resources.
- Flexible vacation policy and paid holidays to support rest, recovery, and work-life balance.
- Opportunity to lead and scale a commercial account-management function within a rapidly growing B2B SaaS environment.
- Significant cross-functional exposure across customer success, sales, compliance, product, professional services, finance, and revenue operations.
- High ownership and visibility, with the opportunity to shape team standards, operating models, talent development, and scalable customer-growth practices.
