The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing fire alarm and fire sprinkler system projects from contract award through final closeout. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, internal teams, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Manage all phases of fire alarm or fire sprinkler projects, including scheduling, execution, inspections, and closeoutReview contracts, drawings, specifications, and change orders to ensure scope clarity and compliancePerform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as required for job costing, measurements, and material quantities.Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecastsCoordinate with design teams, field supervisors, technicians, inspectors, and subcontractorsEnsure compliance with local and state fire codes and company safety policiesSubmit and track permits, shop drawings, submittals, and inspection documentationManage procurement of materials and equipment to meet project timelinesConduct job site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safetyIdentify and resolve project issues, including scope changes, delays, or cost impactsCommunicate regularly with customers regarding project status, milestones, and expectationsReview and approve invoices and project expenses as requiredPrepare project closeout documents, including as-builts, warranties, and training materialsSupport a culture of safety by promoting safe work practices and addressing safety concerns professionally

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3–5 years of project management experience in fire alarm and/or fire sprinkler systemsExperience working with fire marshals and inspectorsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsProficiency with project management and scheduling softwareStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Licenses and Certifications

NICET certification (Level II or higher preferred)Fire Alarm or Sprinkler licensing (state or local, as applicable)Valid driver’s license and clean driving recordKnowledge of construction accounting and job cost reporting

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 15 poundsCombination of office and field workAbility to travel to job sites as neededAbility to climb ladders, access mechanical rooms, and work in active construction environments
