Registered Nurse – Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures, including reviewing medical histories and explaining procedures to reduce anxiety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during pre-op and post-op phases, promptly addressing any changes.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, including pain management, wound care, and recovery monitoring.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions and recovery processes.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing.
- Proven experience in perioperative nursing, including pre-op and PACU settings.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia, pain management, and post-surgical care.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
- BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and composure.
