Job Description

Senior Risk & Trading Analyst, Sportsbook

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Risk & Trading Analyst, Sportsbook based in Australia.

This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape risk, trading, and operational strategy for a rapidly growing sportsbook and casino platform. As a senior member of the function, you will take ownership of pre-match and live sportsbook exposure while protecting commercial performance and margin sustainability. You will analyze player behavior, betting activity, market movements, and casino performance to identify sharp play, arbitrage, fraud, and other risks. The role combines real-time decision-making with data-driven analysis and continuous optimization of risk controls. You will work closely with Trading, VIP, Product, Support, Fraud, and Payments teams in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for an experienced iGaming professional who thrives under pressure and is comfortable making high-conviction decisions in a 24/7 operation.

Accountabilities
  • Monitor live sportsbook and casino activity to identify and mitigate sharp play, arbitrage, exploits, bonus abuse, and other risk patterns.
  • Analyze player profitability, betting behavior, withdrawal velocity, and account activity to determine appropriate risk actions, including restrictions and market adjustments.
  • Review casino game outcomes against expected RTP and investigate technical anomalies, unusual volatility, and potential multi-accounting.
  • Monitor pre-match and in-play sportsbook exposure, liabilities, market movements, and overall platform risk.
  • Manage sportsbook risk settings, coordinate with feed providers, conduct bet reviews, and implement appropriate limit adjustments.
  • Partner with Fraud and Payments teams to investigate high-risk withdrawals and suspicious payment activity.
  • Develop data-driven risk reports and improve automated alerts, risk rules, monitoring frameworks, and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with Trading, VIP, Product, and Support teams to resolve risk issues and escalate critical incidents appropriately.
  • Contribute to long-term risk strategy while balancing financial protection, operational efficiency, and a strong customer experience.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of professional experience in Risk, Trading, Fraud, or a closely related function within iGaming or Sports Betting.
  • Deep understanding of sportsbook trading concepts, including odds, liabilities, exposure, market movements, and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of casino mechanics, including RTP, volatility, game outcomes, and player behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Excel, SQL, BI tools, or similar data-analysis technologies to identify anomalies, pricing inefficiencies, and sharp betting activity.
  • Experience making rapid commercial and risk decisions within high-volume, live operational environments.
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts within a 24/7 sportsbook and casino operation.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with excellent attention to detail and sound commercial judgment.
  • Calm, decisive, and composed approach when managing escalations and high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain risk findings, decisions, and recommended actions to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and ability to operate independently in a high-growth environment.
Benefits
  • Full-time opportunity within a high-growth sportsbook and casino environment.
  • Remote working arrangement with the role based in Australia.
  • Opportunity to become a founding member of the Risk, Trading, and Operations function for a new platform.
  • High level of ownership and direct influence over risk strategy, trading operations, and commercial performance.
  • Exposure to complex real-time sportsbook, casino, fraud, payments, and player-risk operations.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across Trading, Product, VIP, Support, Fraud, and Payments.
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment where decisions can directly influence business outcomes.
  • Professional growth opportunities within an expanding technology and iGaming operation.
