Job Description
Leads all Production operations in their area of responsibility (i.e. Packaging, Processing) to ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets are consistently achieved. Responsible for driving safety, continuous improvement, operational performance, and employee engagement across manufacturing. Accountable for overall manufacturing performance within assigned areas. Could cover weekend Day or weekend Evening shift.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manages all day-to-day Production activities to ensure execution of the Production plan.
- Drives performance to meet or exceed key metrics, including safety, quality, service, cost, and productivity.
- Owns schedule adherence and attainment, ensuring on-time, in-full Production execution.
- Owns and improves Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), including run rates, downtime, and changeover performance.
- Drives labor efficiency through workforce planning, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, waste reduction, and cost control.
- Owns manufacturing cost performance, including labor, material usage, and operating expenses, ensuring alignment to budget and margin targets.
- Ensures adherence to all cGMP, FDA, and internal quality standards in partnership with Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Supports and participates in audits, including cGMP certifications, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Partners with Planning and Supply Chain to align Production execution with demand requirements and inventory targets.
- Collaborates with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support capital projects.
- Identifies and implements process improvements related to equipment, workflows, staffing, and material flow.
- Tracks and analyzes Production data to drive performance improvements and ensure accountability across teams.
- Leads and develops frontline leadership (Supervisors and Leads) to improve execution, accountability, and team capability.
- Promotes a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensures effective communication and alignment across shifts and departments.
- Supports new product introductions and process validations within manufacturing.
- Maintains accurate Production documentation, including batch records and performance tracking.
- Reinforces NOW culture, values, and operating tenets through leadership behavior and decision-making.
- Complies with safety and cGMP requirements. Maintains all safety rules and SOPs in accordance with all Company and outside regulatory policies and rules.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
Supports a culture of safe Production and exhibits safe work practices. Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities. Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance. Adheres to policies, procedures, SOP’s, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures (SPP). Reports ALL workplace incidents to the manager immediately. Communicates concerns to the manager, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required. Participates in safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities. Responsible for safe work performance in the area. Ensures the completion of job safety analyses, safety inspections, and employee training. Acts as the primary communicator of safe work practices and information to the department. Facilitates employees’ participation in the safety activity card program and on safety teams. Completes incident investigation reports and submits them to the manager by the end of the shift on which the incident is reported. Conducts safety contacts and documents corrective and preventative actions. Enforces Company policies, procedures, SOPs, SPPs, and safe work practices. Ensures implementation and enforcement of workplace health and safety requirements. Ensures activities are completed to communicate, promote, and enforce safe work practices by supervisors and employees, thereby ensuring injury prevention efforts are effectively implemented. Ensures safe Production methods are considered in the procurement of materials and equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises Production Supervisors and other supervisors as assigned. Fulfills Production Manager responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain; other relevant degrees are considered. Advanced degree preferred. Relevant, progressive experience will be considered in place of a degree.
- Minimum of five years of related experience, including experience in middle management, preferably in a food-related industry.
- Prior experience with manufacturing and inventory management in a cGMP environment. Prior soft-gel manufacturing experience strongly preferred for our Sparks, NV facility.
- Experience in Lean Six Sigma with either a black or green belt or equivalent process experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems or other formats to manage daily Production and inventory usage programs is required. Oracle experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills is required.

- Frequently exposed to all the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans) except for peanuts, Wheat and Soybeans, Sesame.
- This position requires working in designated areas that contain strong magnetic fields which may be a danger to life for wearers of pacemakers, prostheses or implants, such as defibrillators.
- Travel (including by plane) to other facilities is required.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
