Job Description
Dartmouth College seeks an accomplished fundraiser to join its Leadership Giving team. The Managing Director, Special Gifts will manage a select portfolio of individuals capable of making major gifts in support of Dartmouth College’s institutional priorities. We seek candidates who demonstrate the skills for successful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors in ways that deepen their connection to the College. Working primarily with prospective donors in the Western region, you will develop and execute strategies that secure current-use and capital commitments of up to $250,000 or more.
This position offers a fully remote work arrangement with preference for candidates living in San Francisco Bay area, Los Angeles, or Denver region.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree with six or more years of experience in a complex college or university development operation, or the equivalent as well as an appreciation for the values of a liberal arts education. Demonstrated experience soliciting and closing four, five and six-figure gifts, knowledge of gift planning vehicles and techniques, and a record of success in meeting goals. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a capacity to manage a wide range of relationships and situations.
