The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting automotive door panels to identify cosmetic defects, assembly issues, and other quality concerns before products move to the next stage of production. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow established inspection procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The goal is to ensure every door panel meets quality standards before it proceeds through production.
Key ResponsibilitiesInspect automotive door panels for scratches, dents, scuffs, wrinkles, material defects, and other cosmetic imperfections.
Check panel edges, surface areas, gaps between components, and proper material placement.
Verify that buttons are properly seated and functioning, sunshades operate correctly, and other specified components meet inspection standards.
Inspect designated high-risk areas closely, using different angles and lighting when necessary.
Check for loose screws or other objects inside panels when prompted by the inspection system.
Document defects accurately using inspection logs, barcode scanners, and computer-based systems.
Identify and route defective products for repair or rework before they proceed through production.
Reinspect repaired products to verify that defects have been corrected and quality standards are met.
Notify Quality or Production leadership when defects occur repeatedly or when an issue requires additional review.
Follow established inspection procedures and production timing requirements.
Required:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify small visual defects.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and inspection criteria consistently.
Ability to accurately document findings and follow established procedures.
Willingness to learn inspection systems, barcode scanning, and basic computer-based documentation.
Ability to communicate quality concerns to team members and leadership.
Preferred:
Previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience identifying cosmetic defects or assembly issues.
Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards, inspection logs, or barcode scanning systems.
Experience working in automotive manufacturing.
The ideal candidate is observant, consistent, and quality-focused. They understand the importance of catching defects before products reach the customer, are comfortable performing repetitive inspections without overlooking details, and know when to escalate a concern rather than make an assumption.
