Job Description
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Teen Sports & Recreation Program Associate will be responsible for being the liaison between members and staff. The successful candidate will be an active participant in the 5th quarter parties, birthday parties, along with additional youth and teens activities.
Essential Functions:
1. Have a positive attitude
2. Be a first responder in the event of an emergency.
3. Demonstrate the YMCA Character Values and be an enthusiastic role model to YMCA members and guests.
4. Ensure the safety of members and participants by promotion and following YMCA safety guidelines and procedures.
5. Provide guidance to members and guests in locating programs or activities.
6. Be knowledgeable of gym, pool, and Wellness/Free Weight area rules and schedules.
7. Be able to assist members in answering questions and resolving conflicts in a positive manner.
8. Assist Member Services Desk staff in giving tours.
9. Assist Fitness Staff in welcoming new members for Wellness appointments if needed.
10. Check in with Member Services Desk and Director on duty at beginning of work shift.
11. Complete facility checklists during each shift.
12. Report any facility or program concerns in writing.
13. Monitor all activity both inside and outside: walk halls, check program areas, check locker rooms, and walk parking lot.
14. Ensure facility safety and security.
15. Check all emergency doors and to be sure they are locked and alarmed.
16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
2. Previous experience working with youth and teens preferred.
3. At least 18 years of age
4. Must submit to background check.
5. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
Physical Demands:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities.
