Sr. Batch Developer (UNIX/C/SQL)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Batch Developer (UNIX/C/SQL) in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale healthcare technology systems that directly support critical services for millions of users. You will work on the design, development, and optimization of batch processing solutions within complex UNIX/Linux environments, leveraging C programming and relational databases. The position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions that ensure reliability, performance, and scalability. You will also participate in system analysis, code reviews, and production support activities in a mission-driven environment. This is a highly technical role where your work will have a direct impact on healthcare administration platforms. Accountabilities:
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions and contribute to the creation of detailed functional specifications and design documents aligned with business needs.
  • Estimate development effort and provide technical justification for assigned tasks and project components.
  • Design, code, test, debug, implement, and document moderately complex to complex batch processing programs and applications.
  • Develop and maintain efficient batch jobs, automation processes, and notification services in a UNIX/Linux environment.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
  • Analyze existing systems and applications to identify opportunities for optimization, enhancement, and improved performance.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to validate requirements, provide technical consulting, and resolve development issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced developers within the team.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in application development projects.
  • 4+ years of experience in C programming, including strong proficiency in Pro*C.
  • 4+ years of experience working in UNIX or Linux environments.
  • 4+ years of experience working with relational databases and SQL-based development.
  • Strong expertise in batch development, job scheduling, automation, and notification services.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, including specifications and design documents, with familiarity in UML diagrams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team.
  • Healthcare or Medicaid industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
