The Role

As a result of our robust growth, we are seeking a Fish Health Summer Student to join our Fish Health Team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented team player with the ability to work flexible hours, travel as required, and adapt to both field and laboratory environments.

Primary Duties

• Marine site visits to conduct sea lice counts and disease surveillance sampling
• Hatchery visits to collect samples for disease surveillance
• Laboratory duties such as laboratory sample preparation, organization
• Recording, organizing, and entering fish health data with a high degree of accuracy
• Supporting field investigations and fish health assessments as required
• Maintaining equipment, supplies, and documentation related to fish health operations

Qualifications / Requirements

• Secondary education diploma required; post-secondary training in aquaculture, biology, environmental science or a related field considered an asset
• Experience in fish farming, fish health, or laboratory work considered an asset
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and travelling between sites
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping
• Must be willing to work flexible or irregular hours, including occasional overnight travel
• Valid driver’s license required

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and education.
