Quality Technician – Precision Machining in Oxford, Michigan at Warnke Precision Machining LLC

Location: Oxford, MI (Onsite)

As a Quality Technician, you’ll perform hands-on quality inspection of precision-machined components and verify that materials, equipment, and documentation meet customer, government, regulatory, and Warnke quality requirements. You’ll play an important role in identifying quality issues, supporting production, and helping the team consistently deliver reliable, high-precision components.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect raw materials, purchased components, work-in-process parts, and finished products for compliance with quality requirements.
• Use standard inspection gauges and coordinate measuring machines to verify product dimensions and specifications.
• Verify that production machinery and inspection equipment are operating properly.
• Review purchase orders, supplier certifications, and material certifications for compliance with customer, government, and Warnke requirements.
• Assist with developing and reviewing production, testing, and inspection plans that minimize quality risk.
• Coordinate inspection and testing activities with manufacturing, operations, and other departments to support project deadlines.
• Estimate the time required to complete inspections and other quality activities.
• Investigate and document defects and nonconformances identified during production, inspection, or testing.
• Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.
• Communicate inspection findings and defects to the appropriate teams for correction.
• Assist with supplier and vendor audits.
• Recommend improvements to quality processes, production workflows, and supporting systems.
• Perform quality activities in accordance with applicable customer requirements, regulations, company procedures, and international standards.

• 2 years of relevant experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, machining, or a related environment.
• Strong math and technical skills.
• Experience using standard inspection gauges, including calipers, height stands, micrometers, bore gauges, or similar tools.
• Experience using a coordinate measuring machine.
• Understanding of quality control standards, inspection methods, and testing practices.
• Ability to document inspection results, defects, nonconformances, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively with manufacturing and operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience using JobBOSS² or a similar enterprise resource planning system.
• Experience reviewing supplier and material certifications.
• Experience supporting supplier audits, nonconformance investigations, or corrective actions.
• Familiarity with AS9100D or quality requirements in aerospace, defense, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
