Summary:

Join Woodwell Climate’s Foundation Relations team as a Development Coordinator and be a part of a growing, dynamic Development department. Working closely with the Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships (SDIP), Manager of Institutional Partnerships (MIP), and Woodwell Climate’s Office of Development by supporting a variety of foundation and corporate fundraising work, including managing Raiser’s Edge (RE), researching foundations, tracking of grant reports, and implementing a new corporate philanthropy program. This position provides critical support to the FR team while the SDIP and MIP are traveling and at external meetings. The ideal candidate will have RE experience.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    Support the SDIP, MIP and other philanthropic frontline fundraisers with researching foundations, corporations, and individuals for various projects and initiatives at Woodwell Climate, across all program areas and other institutional priority areas

    Based on research and knowledge of projects, qualifying foundations and corporations and work with the SDIP to assist with developing a strategy for each

    Help prepare concepts, LOIs, and full proposals to foundations and corporations as requested

    Lead the corporate philanthropy implementation, including finalizing the internal processes, creating a prospect list and implementation plan with guidance/input from Development and SMT, and participating in networking events related to corporate fundraising

    Serve as the team lead to enter foundation information into RE, such as but not limited to: creating new records; entering proposals submitted and updating status; entering communication with foundations, corporations and other partnerships

    Work closely with Woodwell’s Sponsored Research Office, Office of Grant & Contract Finance and others on the Development team with various administrative tasks, including financial reconciliation meetings, implementation of the new internal granting system (InfoEd) and maintaining internal policies and procedures

    Provide support to the MIP on the Fund for Climate Solutions internal grant award program, such as reviewing reports and new proposals to share

    Record grant reporting schedules and send reminders to Woodwell Climate’s Scientists as directed by the SDIP and MIP

    Schedule, support, and record notes for meetings with PIs and teams for proposal development and activity tracking

    Maintain organizational foundation and corporation grant files

    Assist with preparation and implementation for donor events

    Assist with department needs as approved by the supervisor


Must Have the Following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of foundation or corporate grantmaking and management

    Ability to prioritize and manage several projects efficiently

    Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating cross-functionally, with donors, vendors, and team members

    Strong organizational and administrative skills

    Ability to handle large data sets with accuracy

    Tech savvy, proficient in Google Workspace, MS Office, RE and CRM Databases

    Excellent attention to detail, conscientious work ethic

    Excellent ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment

    Positive and proactive demeanor

    Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

    A desire to understand how administrative projects connect to broader philanthropic goals and strategy

Preferred but not required:

    Background in science and/or business

    Experience with InfoEd and/or Raiser’s Edge

Qualifications

    Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, Science or relevant field

    3-5 years' experience working in fundraising or project organization (internship experience is applicable).

Classification and Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position, the annual salary starting at $58,000 to $65,000.00 dependent on qualifications/experience. Woodwell Climate offers a generous benefits package and work life balance.

Location: Falmouth, Massachusetts. Hybrid is possible, must be in the office 3 days a week, Additional days onsite when required.
