Position Overview

The Specialty Account Manager (SAM), Northeast is responsible for growing 1st Phorm’s wholesale business throughout the Northeast Region.

This role focuses on both developing new business and growing existing accounts across specialty nutrition, fitness, sporting goods, independent grocery, pharmacy, wellness, and other specialty channels.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a territory, identify opportunities, solve problems, build strong relationships, and consistently create growth.

Key Responsibilities
Grow the Territory

  • Identify, prospect, and close high-value new wholesale accounts.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
  • Develop relationships with owners, buyers, operators, and key decision-makers.
  • Identify new channels and opportunities that align with the 1st Phorm brand.
  • Prioritize opportunities based on revenue potential, account quality, and long-term growth.
Grow Existing Accounts
  • Manage and grow an assigned book of specialty wholesale accounts.
  • Increase revenue through higher average order value, increased order frequency, expanded product assortment, and stronger customer retention.
  • Identify underdeveloped accounts and create plans to grow them.
  • Introduce new products, programs, and opportunities that create value for our customers.
  • Develop deeper relationships within high-potential and multi-location accounts.
  • Maintain consistent communication and follow-through with customers.
Own the Business
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual territory goals.
  • Understand what is driving the performance of your book of business.
  • Determine whether growth requires higher average order value, increased order frequency, more active customers, new customer acquisition, or a combination.
  • Develop and execute a plan based on those opportunities.
  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline and accurately track opportunities and follow-up.
  • Communicate meaningful wins, risks, challenges, and opportunities to sales leadership.
  • Take ownership of results and adjust your approach when something isn’t working.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role starts with ownership.

A successful SAM is a self-starter and problem solver who understands their book of business and knows what needs to change to create growth.

They can identify whether the opportunity is higher average order value, increased order frequency, more active customers, new customer acquisition, or a combination, then develop and execute a plan to improve it.

They know where the biggest opportunities are, where their time will have the greatest impact, and don’t wait to be told what to do next.

Ultimately, success means taking ownership of the territory and consistently finding ways to grow it.
