This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Test Automation Developer based in the United States.

This role focuses on building automation tools and test frameworks that improve software quality, efficiency, and release confidence.
You will develop Python-based solutions, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and help automate functional, regression, and performance testing.
Working closely with QA, Engineering, and DevOps teams, you will turn repetitive workflows into reliable and scalable tools.
You will investigate test and pipeline failures, support root-cause analysis, and provide actionable insights from test data.
The role offers opportunities to influence QA processes, improve automation coverage, and accelerate feedback across development environments.
You will also contribute through code reviews, technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving complex problems and making engineering teams more effective.

Accountabilities
  • Build and maintain Python automation tools, test frameworks, and scripts that enable efficient functional, regression, and performance testing.

  • Partner with QA, Engineering, DevOps, and other internal teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable, maintainable automation solutions.

  • Identify repetitive or time-consuming workflows and develop practical tools that improve accuracy, consistency, and productivity.

  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and jobs using Groovy, Python, and supporting scripts.

  • Monitor automated test executions, investigate failures, support root-cause analysis, and communicate results, risks, and recommended follow-up actions.

  • Validate software fixes and enhancements through targeted testing, regression testing, and analysis of expected versus actual outcomes.

  • Transform test, automation, and development data into clear, actionable information for technical teams and leadership.

  • Represent QA during enterprise tool changes by assessing testing impacts, identifying potential risks, and coordinating upgrades, configuration changes, and tool updates.

  • Improve automation coverage, test reliability, execution speed, and workflow consistency through continuous tooling and process improvements.

  • Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, debugging sessions, design decisions, and knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to QA team members and Co-op students.

  • Lead and mentor Tools Developer Co-op students by helping prioritize work, reviewing progress, and supporting their technical development.

  • Participate in hiring activities for Co-op and development positions by contributing technical expertise and interview feedback.

  • Provide regular updates on team progress, priorities, risks, schedules, stakeholder coordination, and initiatives under your responsibility.

Requirements
  • 3–4 years of professional Python development experience, with demonstrated ability to create maintainable tools, scripts, or automation frameworks.

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Jenkins or comparable CI/CD pipelines.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

  • Experience developing automation frameworks, software tools, or scripts that improve QA, Engineering, or test-execution workflows.

  • Practical experience with source control, including pull requests, branching, tagging, and resolving commit or branch-related issues.

  • Strong debugging capabilities across software, automation, test environments, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root-cause analysis and validation of corrective actions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently, balance competing priorities, and deliver dependable solutions within a collaborative environment.

  • Experience with automated functional, regression, or performance testing is a plus.

  • Familiarity with GitHub, GitLab, or similar source-control platforms is advantageous.

  • Experience using JIRA or comparable defect-tracking and project-management tools is beneficial.

  • Working knowledge of Linux-based development or testing environments is preferred.

  • Experience with Docker, virtualization, or containerized testing environments is a plus.

  • Familiarity with GUI development libraries such as Tkinter, Qt, or similar frameworks is advantageous.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting Co-op students, junior developers, or other technical team members is desirable.

Benefits
  • United States compensation: $65,000–$70,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

  • Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and local market conditions.

  • Remote work opportunities, depending on the role and location.

  • Low-cost medical, dental, and vision coverage options.

  • 401(k) with a generous employer match.
