Description:

Oneida Construction Services is a Native American, tribally-owned small business. We are a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) full-service general contractor and construction company. We are wholly-owned by the Oneida Nation as a subsidiary under Oneida ESC Group.

With quality and safety as our guiding principles, OCS has in-house construction managers, site superintendents, site quality control and safety officers, trades, and laborers to deliver construction, design-build, renovation, and demolition projects on time and under budget.

OCS is actively seeking a highly motivated, full-time Construction Administration Intern in San Diego, CA.

This position will begin as a part-time position during the academic year and transition to full time in Summer of 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with a variety of document production and construction administration tasks, including drafting correspondence and memos and preparing documents from rough drafts to final versions.
  • Prepare, edit, maintain, and quality check reports and other project documents, including text, tables, data, lists, charts, presentations, and other deliverables.
  • Perform basic editorial and quality checks to ensure documents are accurate, complete, consistent, and free of spelling, grammar, formatting, or date errors.
  • Compile, organize, print, scan, copy, and maintain project documents, reports, drawings, graphs/charts, presentations, and other materials.
  • Assist with document control and electronic file management in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Maintain organized project files, records, and file-sharing platforms while adhering to applicable corporate and customer standards and specifications.
  • Perform data entry and data accuracy checks.
  • Support Project Managers and department staff with project administration activities, including task tracking, monitoring deliverable due dates, document submittals, project schedules, and project records.
  • Provide meeting support, including scheduling meetings, coordinating logistics and participant notifications, preparing meeting materials, and documenting meeting minutes as needed.
  • Assist with general day-to-day administrative requests and other department needs as directed.
  • Assist with technical and construction-related project tasks based on educational background, skills, and experience.
  • Gain exposure to construction administration processes, project documentation, drawings, schedules, and project coordination activities.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree program in construction management, engineering, business, environmental science, geology, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated personal and professional integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship, coursework, or experience supporting construction, engineering, environmental, or related projects.
  • Familiarity with project documentation, document control, construction drawings, blueprints, or technical documents.
  • Experience or familiarity with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar software.
  • Prior experience working in an office, administrative, project support, or customer service environment.
