Team Leadership: Plan, assign, coordinate, and evaluate the daily work of a multi-disciplinary team of technicians, assembly mechanics, and operators.

System Commissioning & Maintenance: Oversee the fabrication, deployment, and preventive maintenance schedules for customized, complex water treatment skids, pilot systems, and site-specific filtration equipment.

Technical Integration: Interpret complex engineering blueprints, electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and plant distribution plans.

Process Optimization: Ensure that processes on the manufacturing floor are optimized and improvements are tracked through to adhere to established KPI’s.

Safety & Training: Enforce rigorous safety protocols (OSHA/Cal-OSHA), lead regular safety briefings, and facilitate on-the-job technical training regarding chemical handling and specialized equipment operations.

Reporting & Collaboration: Prepare clear operational logs, asset tracking reports, and regulatory compliance documentation. Coordinate heavily with the engineering department.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) supplemented by specialized training or an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, mechanical engineering, water science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 4 to 5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in water treatment system operations or specialized manufacturing, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or crew-lead capacity.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of advanced treatment technologies: reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), UV disinfection, and custom chemical feed controls.
  • Demonstrated capability with asset management databases, CMMS software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both an indoor manufacturing/office environment and dynamic, outdoor field environments.
  • Willingness to travel to regional client sites or local treatment utilities.
  • Physical stamina to walk, stand, bend, or crawl around heavy machinery, climb platforms, and safely lift or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Tolerance for varying environmental elements, including exposure to noise, typical process chemicals, and various weather conditions
